Tim Marcinowski
CEO & Founder
Taskfit.io, Inc

Military Service: U.S. Navy

Branch/Specialty:  IT & Telecommunications

So, what do you do and how do you do it?

TaskFit.io is helping companies reduce and in some cases eliminate the need for IT help desks.  Our software can run on any operating system to discover, monitor and fix problems as they happen in real-time.

What has been the most challenging part about transitioning from military service?

Biggest challenge transitioning for me was trying to understand what tools as a veteran were at my fingertips.  It took me years to get to the right people to both give and take critical advice.

Tell us how you ended up where you are in your company.

It all started entertaining customers at my parent’s video store. When I wasn’t sticking cheese curls up my nose; I was learning how to work on our computer.  Ever since then I’ve been obsessed about customers and building great technology.

In the last 5 years, what is the greatest change you have made in your life that has made you a better person?

I stopped talking as much and started listening. I highly recommend reading or taking trusted advisor training.  Andrea Howe’s material is SUPER valuable.

What is the book you’ve given most as a gift? Or, what are the one or two books that have greatly influenced your life?

Two books that have influenced my life have been Shoe Dog & The Design of Everyday Things.

Honestly, why did you join the Capitol Post family? And what has been the biggest impact so far?

I joined the Capitol Post family because of its close relationship with Bunker Labs.  The biggest impact has been customer and channel validation. I would’ve wasted tens of thousands of dollars if I hadn’t become a member.
